Paul, called to be an apostle, I Corinthians 1:1

Paul, called to be an apostle is how I Corinthians 1 starts out.

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” Ephesians 4:1-3, (ESV).

What’s that got to do with you or your children?

We, as Christ-followers, are all called to discipleship. We are admonished to walk worthy of the call in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:1-3

How do we inspire our young people to walk worthy? Here are three powerful tips to begin with.

Pillar # 1 What Is Your Child’s Perception of God and His Word

Implementing these three pillars may inspire you and your child to begin a walk worthy of your calling.

Ask questions.

  • Does this child see God as the Creator of all things?
  • Is he or she aware that He sustains all things He created?
  • He provides salvation through His only son. Does the child know about that gospel message?

Allow the child to have time to think before you make any suggestions. The best teacher waits the longest for the answer.

To sum it up, the first pillar is observing their understanding. Then:

Pillar # 2 Determine their Interest in Obeying the Walk Worthy Command

If pillar #1 has inspired the child to know God better, see the steps to take to lead him/her to a personal relationship with God. (Click here for more). Christ’s blood shed on the cross is a mighty inspiring motivation for wanting to walk worthy of the calling. The calling being to follow Him. When Jesus walked the earth He asked the disciples to leave all and follow Him. But they can’t follow Him if they don’t believe Who He really is. So, this pillar must follow pillar #1.

Pillar # 3 Inspire Children to Take His Yoke Upon Them and Learn of Him

We get to know someone by spending time with them. By listening to their story. And we talk to them. It’s important to know God that way. We know Him through the Bible, His Words are for us to learn who He is, what He expects from us. That’s why He says “Learn of Me”. That’s why I’m offering a coaching club to inspire children to memorize God’s Word.

It’s the supreme guide through this life here on earth.

Inspiring kids in a fun way to memorize God’s Word is how they can turn to Him and away from the idols of this wicked world. Turn away from the social media and the lies and listen to truth from God.
